Absolute monarchy
The absolute monarchy is a government ruled by a king or a queen with unlimited power. In other words, the ruler does not have to get a permission for any laws or decisions he or she makes. The ruler of absolute monarchy control every view of society. Also, they never answer to their people but only to God.
Maria Theresa was an absolute ruler. She believed that absolute monarchy was good because she thought she always made right decisions that are advantageous for the nation. With her absolutism, she had made new laws that lead to architectural and social growth, which helped the development of Austria.
Maria Theresa decreased the power of nobility and limited the power of labor that nobles could force peasants to do. Decreasing thepower of noblility gave her more power and she believed that the peasants must be able to sustain itself. She also reformed the treasury, expanded the central administration, and brought the church more strictly under the state control.

Absolute monarchs believed in divine rights. The King get power by divine right of kings. Dvine right is the concept that God created the manarchy and that the King or Queen is God's representative on earth. Monarchs claim power through God.
